It doesn’t feel like fall yet, but I have all my school supplies ready to go! I had a wonderful summer. My family spent a lot of time hiking and camping, as well as eating WAY too much ice cream.

September Classes

September is a crazy month for teachers and families!

Turnip the Heat only has two classes this month, but they are good ones!

For kids this month we have Brown Bagging It – packing the perfect school lunch. This class has been requested multiple times, so it is sure to fill up fast. Open to kids 8 years old and older.

For adults we will have a little fun with pie crust! The pie making class will help you integrate a little more pie into daily life, always a good thing.

If you want to look a bit farther into the future, Whole Foods Market and Turnip the Heat Cooking are offering some cooking classes through out the school year.

Friday, October 10th: We will be cooking up fresh Fall produce. Open to kids 6 years old and older.

Sunday, October 12th: Fall Soup making for kids

More classes being listed this week. See the whole schedule here.

I have updated my class schedule through August. More will be coming soon!

My kids class this month is a family class – kids can come alone or with a parent! This is the perfect meal to cook together for a family evening at home (especially a family movie night!).  See details here.

Adult classes this month include a Meatless Monday, vegetarian class and a Summer Dinner Party class. Click through for details on each class.

The first week of Turnip the Heat Cooking and Whole Foods Market cooking camp is complete! It was a lot of fun! I am ready for a few days of family time before jumping back into teaching.

Spots Open for 13-17 year old Cooks!

I have a few more spots of THIS Thursday-Friday 9:30-12:00 cooking camp.

We will be going over how to plan a meal, pick the perfect ingredients and whip up a healthy, delicious meal that everyone will love! On day two, students will be planning, shopping and cooking up the meal and serving them to the guest of their choice!

This is a great camp for students looking to spread their wings a bit with cooking.

Cooking from your Garden Box (and some weekly meal planning)

Turnip the Heat Cooking has a new teaching space at Old Salt Market! It is a fabulous space! We will have more room to spread out and enjoy the class.

Have you started picking up your CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) boxes? Hopefully the box is brimming with fresh produce! This class will help you plan a week of meals from your box and offer up some new recipes and techniques.

This is an adult class, so feel free to bring a bottle of wine or beer to enjoy during class!

The class is Thursday, June 26th at 6:00pm. $35
